2020 encouraged us to hold two feelings at once; the light and the dark, the happy and the sad, the togetherness and the isolation. The duality of this time has been ever-present in our discourse, while also a continued testimony to communal resilience.

First developed in the 1840s, cyanotypes are printed by the reaction of UV light on a surface covered in Potassium ferricyanide and Ferric ammonium citrate. This mixture of iron compounds oxidizes when exposed to UV light.

In revisiting this process that I embraced nearly 20 years ago, I shift my focus from singular imagery to pushing the boundaries of my analogue collage art practice. These works are a collage of visions, memories and observations throughout this quarantined era.
