memory of place :: cyanotypes on toned paper
First developed in the 1840s, cyanotypes are printed by the reaction of UV light on a surface covered in Potassium ferricyanide and Ferric ammonium citrate. This mixture of iron compounds oxidizes (to a vibrant blue) when exposed to UV light.

Using this technique and substrate, this work is a narrative about history, architecture and the human experience; a journey through visual archives of both the past and present. These images explore the mythology of identity in an attempt to uncover the ways in which history, culture, and myth shape our understanding of who we are.
